258 CORONAVIRUS DISEASE 19 VACCINATION-RELATED PERICARDITIS: A SINGLE TERTIARY CENTER EXPERIENCE

Abstract Background Vaccination represents a cornerstone of prevention in the COVID-19 pandemic. Rare adverse events including acute pericarditis and myopericarditis have been reported. Material Methods All consecutive patients referred to our referral center for pericardial diseases following vaccination from 1st April 2021 15th 2022 were included. Acute diagnosed according ESC guidelines. Patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection excluded study. Results Twenty-four (79% males) aged 39.7 ± 19.8 years after receiving vaccination. 13 (54%) myopericarditis. The mean time between symptoms onset was 7.0 4.9 days most frequent symptom pericarditic chest pain (83%). Respectively, 50% 33% presented second third dose vaccine. Almost all treated both nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs colchicine. Five (21%) experienced recurrence pericarditis. No patient died or developed constrictive Mean follow-up 8.0 3.2 months. Conclusions vaccine-related typically manifest mild clinical signs, young males, few vaccine are commonly characterized by rapid complete recovery. Despite these rare side effects, benefits clearly outweigh limited risk myocarditis, is strongly recommended prevent infection, transmission related complications.
